Dear Aunt Helen and family,
Please know that I am thinking of you and that all of you are in my prayers.
I wish there was something to say at a time like this, but just know that you are loved.
Take care,

Dear family. Our deepest sympathy on the the loss of uncle Minnes. We will always remember him with a smile on our faces. He was so upbeat and fun to be around. He always had a hug for us and we adored him as children and adults. We will never forget his trips home from the service when he brought us bubblegum and other treats that were not available during the war. We were always so happy to see him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Mom sends her love.
Most sincerely,
Donna, Ann, Cookie

Dear family,
I had the honor to know and work with Mr. Skanes at Farley Nuclear Plant back in the 70's. He was a very nice man some 25 years older than me but always willing to help me learn. I lost touch with him for many years but had the privilege to see him again when he made the Honor Flight to Washington. I was a Guardian for another veteran but had the opportunity to talk with him and thank him for his service and helping me in the past. I hope you find peace in knowing he touched many lives and always seemed to have something going on. In Washington we were all standing in line at the limited facilities and I and the soldier I was pushing in a wheelchair were about five people behind Mr. Skanes when he got to the urinal. Out of the blue he announced for all to hear, "Hey Joe, we got a problem!" Joe said what's going on Mr. Skanes? Back came "I think I have my boxers on backwards" Of course the place broke up in laughter. He was joy to be around and I know he throughly enjoyed the trip. Glad I had the honor to be with him. He was and still is one of the good guys! A Patriot, someone I'm proud to have known and look forward to seeing again one day. May God bless you all.
