Milton Murray

Mr. Murray passed away peacefully in Lake Mary, Florida on April 5, 2025, at the age of ninety-four. His significant other Joan Marsh and family were at his side.

The son of the late Edna (Taylor) Murray and William Roy Murray was born on December 19, 1930, in Bay City, where he resided for most of his life.

Milton graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1949, and continued his education at Northern Business College, Delta College, and Saginaw Valley College. While working full-time, he earned a bachelor's degree in business/economics.

In 1987, he retired from Dow Corning Corporation. He previously worked for Ford Motor Company and General Motors. During his career at Dow Corning, he advanced from a laboratory technician to management in the silicone plastics industry. He was granted several patents for silicone applications. After his retirement, he worked as a consultant for Dow Corning and was honored by being asked to document his extensive hands-on knowledge of silicones.

He thrived on being out of doors camping and hunting, and enjoyed fishing and sailing. He was active in the Sea Scouts in his youth and later as a mentor. He also enjoyed woodworking and traveling. His work took him to Australia and Japan.

He was married for sixty-three years to Eugenia Barbara (Jablonski) Murray (deceased), known as Jean, a longtime teacher in the Bay City Public Schools.

Milton is survived by five children and their spouses: Milton Murray, Jr. and his wife Carol, Barbara Murray and her husband Richard Leslie, Susan (SJ) Murray, William Murray and his wife Linda, and Michael Murray and his wife Deb. He had seven grandchildren: Jenny, Matthew, Rebekah, Benjamin, William, Kevin and Brian, and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister Joan (Murray) Miller, and his brother Roger, and also by infant twin siblings Donald and Dolores.

A Celebration of Life is planned in Bay City at a date to be arranged.
