With the changing of the seasons, our Mom and Nana decided to make her journey home to her loving Father and to those she loved who had passed before her. She was surrounded by the love of her family, but more importantly the physical presence, joy and laughter of her grandchildren. Miriam was predeceased by her devoted husband, Ernie (1979) and infant son, Michael Paul (1955), appreciated deeply by her children, Cathy Walling (Hugh), Denis (Janis), Kevin (Yvette) and Elise Daragon (Bob). She was fun-loving, youthful Nana, to Matthew, Rachel (Bryan Dolecki), Michael (Katarina) Walling, Jessica (George Bakic), Natalie, Bobby, Amanda, Julie Daragon and Sara (Kyle) Page. She knew the joy of great grandparenthood through Elliot, Connor, Carson, Stella, Michael and our family's expected arrival, Aelya. Miriam grew up in a faith-filled home led by her parents Louis and Bernadette Monforton. Dearest sister of Roger (d.) (Theresa), Paul (Clara (d.)), Maxine (Don (d.)) Huggard, Rosalie (Ernie) Gignac, Frank (d.) (Ginny), and Jeannette (Hank (d.)) Byrne. Miriam was the thoughtful daughter-in-law of Ernest and Sara Page. She spoke often of the lessons learned in the Page household. Cherished sister-in-law of Gwen (Eddie) Zakoor (d.), Walter (d.) (Eileen), George (Gene) (d.), and John (d.) (Lorna). Beloved aunt of many, many adoring nieces and nephews. Miriam was an exemplary nurse who cared deeply and ministered with great compassion. Mom had the good fortune of living in the Norman Road neighborhood for over 65 years where she formed many lasting friendships. Mom retired at the age of 60, and she remained very active in church and community organizations, especially the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Mom's last few years were spent at the Villages of St. Clair where she received quality and loving care. Special thanks to the staff of the Talbot Neighborhood for ensuring our mom's needs were met. If you so desire, donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or St. Theresa of Calcutta Catholic Elementary School Student Nutrition Program would be appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 3-9 p.m. with Prayers at 7:00 p.m. at
