A grand lady of the Moser Tannery in NA, and a cousin of mine. Always giving me compliments on my newspaper articles. RIP: Miriam!

Miriam was always a big backer of my WV newspapers, complimenting me always. Generally, editors do not get compliments, but she always felt my hometown comments, including those of growing up in NA, Ind., were of interest to the general population. May God bless her and James in their heavenly glory! And, I remember all of the Moser family in my nightly prayers!

Miriam (Moser) Thornton was our beloved 1st cousin of my mother, Iola Catherine (Moser) Corcoran, and both were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany, Indiana and the New Albany Country Club. Both her dad, J.C. Moser, and husband, James Thornton, were my bosses during summer jobs at the George Moser Leather Company when I was in college. Their kindness in offering me the job to help defray my educational expenses was most appreciated by me and my parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Corcoran, Sr. But first, I remember Miriam as the mother of Mary Ann and Jimmy Thornton when taking them to swim at the N.A. Country Club. She was quite socially inclined, and later in life visiting her and James at their Crestview home, they invited my family to swim in their pool. Finally, in early 2000s when the Moser-Buche Families' Reunion took place at Huber Winery, we reconnected and I had a long conversation with her. She was always and kind and caring lady, definitely in the Moser tradition. Miriam, R.I.P.

Miriam Moser Thornton was one of my beloved Moser family cousins. She was an elegant, sociable, and caring lady, too. My last memory of her was when we all attended the Moser-Buche Families' Reunion in 2007. There, we had quite a long and good conversation over our fond memories of the family. Miriam, RIP!

Mrs. Miriam Thornton was a very dear cousin of mine. I say "very dear" because, as an editor and owner of newspapers in West Virginia, I valued her as a longtime and valued subscriber. In fact, she almost yearly would pen a note to me, saying how much she enjoyed reading my newspaper, due to all of the human interest stories in it. She'd write, "I wish the NA Tribune would do more of those." So, as a cousin and person, she was a gem that will make Heaven much brighter.

I never knew "Mrs. T.' in her younger years, but I surely can see why "Mr. T." was so captivated by her. And she was a beauty inside and out. I worked for Mr. T. in his later years doing typing and other secretarial skills and she was always gracious and kind to me. So glad to have known her and the "talkative " Mr. T. Thoughts and prayers to the family.
