Misty Hernandez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 29, 2024.
Misty Nicole Hernandez, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on March 14, 2024, at the age of 45. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she was the cherished daughter of Thomas Siefer and Tiese and Howard Thomas.

Misty's life was a tapestry of strength, love, and unwavering faith. Her family, friends, and community held a special place in her heart. As a phenomenal skin care specialist, makeup artist, and owner of Evolve Spa for nearly two decades, Misty touched countless lives. Her clients and staff became her extended family, and her wickedly funny sense of humor could light up any room.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Misty's faith, kindness and compassion knew no bounds. To know her was to love her, and she exemplified resilience even in the face of adversity. In August 2021, Misty suffered a brain aneurysm, yet she fought tirelessly for nearly two years to regain her strength. Tragically, in April 2023, she was diagnosed with stage four metastatic colon cancer to which her body would eventually succumb. Despite her own struggles and battles throughout her journey, Misty always remained positive, offering unwavering support, strength, and prayers to anyone in need. Her friends and family were her everything.

Misty's legacy is etched into the hearts of her family, friends, and community. She taught us that kindness, love, and uplifting others can carry us through the darkest times. May she rest in eternal peace, her love and light forever illuminating our lives.

**Notable Accomplishments and Passions:**

- **Salon/Spa Owner:**

Misty dedicated almost 20 years to Evolve Spa, where she nurtured both beauty and well-being.

- **Esthetician and Makeup Artist:** Her expertise transformed faces and uplifted spirits. Misty was an accomplished Esthetician and makeup artist for almost 30 years.

- **Educator:**

Misty shared her knowledge with international cosmetic lines, leaving a lasting impact.

- **Devout Faith:**

A devoted member of Aboite Lutheran Church, her faith was integral to her life.

-**Family and Friends:**

Misty's heart overflowed with love and connection. She found joy in every moment spent with her cherished ones: running alongside friends, snuggling with her son Gabe, dancing with her husband David, engaging in inspiring conversations with their oldest son Miguel, taking leisurely walks with "David's dog" Ellie, savoring tacos and avocados, offering heartfelt prayers for friends and family, and sharing laughter over a glass (or two) of wine with dear companions. These moments wove a tapestry of love, laughter, and lasting memories.

-**Passions and Interests:**

Misty's heart overflowed with a commitment to community service and volunteering. She found purpose in helping and supporting others, dedicating countless hours to causes close to her heart. Her involvement extended to the Northside alumni board, Girls on the Run, countless fundraisers, and various other initiatives. Misty's selflessness and unwavering dedication left an indelible mark on those she touched.

May Misty's memory continue to inspire us to be kind, resilient, and compassionate. She will be profoundly missed, but her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Misty was a member of our BSF circle discussion group for a year and a half. She loved Jesus, husband and son very much speaking of them often. Attending BSF many times in great pain, while receiving chemo. I admired Misty´s dealing with her circumstances, I wished I could have known her sooner, she love life and was easy for us to love her. God bless her husband and son as they live life with out her. " Heaven Changes it all". You will se her again one day.

She was my mentor and educator. Taking me under her wing as I went through cosmetology school. She watched me flourish and I will forever be grateful for the opportunity she gave me to grow in her salon.

I met Misty through David when they first got together. We spent many days together at sporting events, Karate tournaments for the kids of the gym. We all would laugh and cry about certain events. Once she took me out many years ago and she introduced me to these dreaded drinks called Pickle backs. Oh lord the stories. lol. We shared interest in craft beers and wines. Of course as we got older and grew out of that stage we just looked back on those days and laughed. She was a true blessing to know as a friend. She´ll be missed.

I met Misty through David back when they first got married. We spent many days together, traveling to sporting events, Karate tournaments, and other activities. We shared the love for craft beers earlier on, and those dreaded pickle backs. She talked me into one night. Lol. We were all younger back then. As we all got older and matured and no longer lived that life we would look back and laugh about those nights we all had. She was a blessing to know and will be missed. Shine your light down on us Misty.

We were sisters in Christ at BSF and our discussion group. Our circle was allowed 2 years together because of Misty´s illness. We´ve prayed many prayers for her and over her, it was God´s need for her in the end, she fought a good fight and loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There is no doubt where Misty will spend eternity. We speak of Misty each week. We loved her and miss her.

I met Misty when I was very young, about 4! I just remember thinking she was so nice, pretty and smart. I was always excited to see her. & although it´s been awhile since I have seen her, I´ve talked to her on social media and she was the same kind person I remembered. I am so upset about her passing. But I know she´s onto her next purpose. I send all my love and healing energy to her family and friends.
