I met Misty through our shared connection as CPR Instructors and I was very glad to have met her. The very first thing I noticed about Misty was her huge, beautiful smile...she was always smiling whenever I interacted with her. Misty was extremely professional and was a wonderful instructor. She was always kind and personable with me and I was very proud to have had her as a member with our organization. I was shocked and saddened to hear of her passing; sad to know that I won't see her smile again. My thoughts go out to her family and friends during this time of loss. It was a true pleasure and delight to have known Misty.

She was one of the 1000 points of light that I had the pleasure of working with. Her endless energy, passion for her work and the love she had for those that worked for her and with her spoke volumes of her and her character. I will miss seeing her endless soothing smile when I pass thru the hallways at Womack.

Misty was not just my co-worker or boss, she was a mentor and friend. Misty was a light, and even though she is no longer with us her spirit will stay with those that she touched. She made me and so many others better than when she first met us. I will carry on knowing that she never wanted what was best for her, but for what was best for those around her.

Knowing Misty was a blessing and the impact she made on the world will last forever. Misty was very humble about her beauty, her intelligence, and her achievements but none of them could be overlooked by those who knew her. She had a profound love for her parents, her sister and brother-in-law and especially her nieces. To know Misty was to unconditionally love her and she lives on not only in our hearts and memories but the positive impact her life made on the world.

To Misty's family, with a heavy heart, and deepest condolences I have to write to you about what made me smile, in remembrance of Misty, that might give you some comfort: She was a confident, perfectionist, courageous, creative, efficient, gladiator, CEVO driver extraordinaire, educator, sharp dressed, no nonsense, take charge, Harley Davidson rider, Lasagna maker, Hot Chicken dip making, cupcake lover, fru fru coffee drinking, Moscato coinsurer, protector of the Second Amendment of our constitution, animal lover, adventuresome, healer, a show stopper,American, cutest giggler, proud step mom, delighted aunt, dedicated to the men and women who serve our country, and was a Womack Army Medical Center Paramedic leader. She supervised her island of misfit toys through many terrible hurdles; leadership turnover, numerous medical directors, protocol fiascos, construction of a new EMS office, co-worker deaths, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods etc... She did it all by supervising gently, but with the knack of Roosevelt's famous quote speak softly and carry a big stick, you will go far attitude. I truly believe that God was not finished with her yet. She was loved.

A cloud of heaviness has been present over Fort Bragg since Misty's passing. She was the best leader, mentor and friend to so many. Misty was such an inspiration. Her energy, passion and legacy will continue. She would want (and expect) no less.
It was an honor to have Misty in my family's life in the way she had been. The joyful memories will never fade. She will forever be remembered for the warmth and love that radiated in her presence.

Misty was an exceptional person. It was my Honor to work with her and for her in the past ten years. Most importantly, Misty was my friend. I Loved her very much and she was close to my family. Always a loving and giving heart. A servant leader, thinking of the benefits of others before herself. Fort Bragg EMS has lost our Soul. The void of her passing will be with us for a long time. Thank you for such a fine daughter May the Good Lord Bless you and Comfort you in her loss. JD
