Misty Maria Minnick (Froyen), also known as Mommy by her immediate family (Misty, Adam (Husband), and their 5 children who are: 4 girls- Vanezza (18), Taylor (17), Khloe (12), Brooklen (11), and the newest addition was the only boy Tecc (3). Misty passed away on December 28, 2023, in
Ephrata, Washington, at the age of 41. She had fallen ill due to complications with diabetes in the weeks and months prior to her death. She was born on February 11, 1982, in Ballard, Seattle, WA to Maria and Henry Froyen. She was the elder to her only sibling, her sister Heather.
Misty lived in Issaquah for her early childhood years on Tiger Mountain with her parents and sister. She later moved to Lynnwood with her mother as her parents separated. Misty met her future husband Adam in the 5th grade at Cedar Valley Elementary in Lynnwood, WA where they "went out" with each other for quite some time but had to start new schools the next school year. They didn't see or hear from each other for over 12 years as they both moved to different schools and friend groups. One day in 2006, Misty went to Jiffy Lube for service and saw Adam working. She said nothing to him shyly but dropped her cell phone number with an employee and asked him to have Adam call her. Later that evening, Adam got her message and phone number and immediately called excitedly and set up a date for that night. They met up for dinner and once they saw each other again it was instantly into each others hearts and minds. Their "honeymoon" period seemingly never ended, they would hold each other and continue with public displays of affection as if it was still their first date until the end.
A huge part of her childhood was ice hockey, where her team was the first female hockey team to win a championship in the country among many other female firsts for the sport. Her team, the Lady Hawks won several other accolades and was often in the newpaper for one reason or another. Her Hockey coach Les Morgan says that she spent most of her time in the penalty box for roughing up the other team!! She remained good friends with several members of her hockey team throughout her life.
Misty was a remarkable individual, known for her kind and loving heart and friendly outgoing attitude. Described by her daughters as funny, kind, and the best cuddler and hugger the world will ever know!! Misty always had a can-do attitude and kept her household immaculately clean and tidy. She cherished her family dearly. She had close ties with each member of her family and she was the person that kept everybody grounded. Misty's passing was very sudden and unexpected. Her whole family has been devastated by this and can only hope that she is in a better place.
A true adventurer at heart, Misty enjoyed activities that brought thrills and excitement. She shared her passion for boating, traveling, snowboarding, camping and skydiving with her husband. She really enjoyed the outdoors likely due to many outings with her father Henry when she was a child. Misty loved dressing up for date nights, going to live concerts and visiting the casino. Her love for travel took her to various destinations around the world with her husband Adam, including Italy, France, the U.K., New Zealand, Tahiti, and Canada. She embarked on a memorable 3-month Covid relief tour of the USA with her family recently where they stayed at airBnB's in 27 major cities around the country and went to theme parks, fanboat ride of the Everglades, helicopter tour of Manhattan and other landmarks around NYC, visited the mall of America, D.C. landmarks and many beaches in Cali and Florida, creating precious memories along the way.
Services to celebrate Misty's life will be held on February 11, 2024, at the Edmonds Waterfront Center from 10 am until 2 pm in the Hummingbird room, overlooking the beach and ferry as it was one of Misty's favorite places in her life and she would often go and just sit and listen to and watch the waves while in deep thought. Nicoles Funeral Home in
Ephrata, WA, is assisting with the arrangements. Please feel free to reach out to Adam with any further questions.
Misty's spirit of adventure, love for her family, loving smile, glowing aura, fierce loyalty, kind heart, and overall beauty will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Misty leaves to cherish her memory a deeply grieving family and many friends and people she touched in her lifetime. Misty was very proud of the Minnick Mafia she built and she will be remembered always thru her family and friends!! Rest in paradise Mommy.....
