Mittie Chaney Veillon, 80, native of Independence, Louisiana, resident of Baton Rouge passed away at Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge on Sunday, November 19, 2023. She attended Independence High School and LSU and was a respected paralegal and notary public. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother "Mimi" to her 7 grandchildren. Mittie was a gifted and special woman, cherished and loved by all that knew her and was a trusted friend to many. She was a skilled seamstress and had a competitive spirit for word games where she friended people all over the world playing her favorite game, Words with Friends. She was kind and compassionate and loved her Lord and Savior with all of her heart as a strong woman of faith despite all the challenges she faced in her life. . She was an example to us all and will be missed beyond measure. She was preceded in death by her husbands Valmon R. Stewart, and Bailey E. Chaney and her "sweet precious boy", her grandson Charles James Rogers, III "Trey". She is survived by her husband David B. Veillon, her children Tammy Stewart, Royce Stewart, and Jenifer Rodriguez as well as her grandchildren Emily Attenhoffer (Kevin), Allison Rogers, Sophie Stewart, Gregory Samuels, Parker Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez, Isaac Rodriguez and her great grandson, Everett Attenhoffer.

She requested that in lieu of a service, we all celebrate her by spending cherished time with loved ones and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Baton Rouge Cancer Society or The American Heart Association.
