Mizuki Sato Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 1, 2025.
Mizuki Scarlett "Koneko" "CarbonKoneko" "Kona"Psomas-Sato, passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident on I-225 Northbound on September 19, 2025, in Aurora, Colorado, at the age of 37. Born on August 4, 1988, in El Paso, Texas, Mizuki lived with fearless purpose and a heart full of devotion.

A proud combat veteran of the United States Army, Mizuki served with distinction in Afghanistan during the 9/11 War on terrorism.

Her courage was forged in the crucible of war-she came perilously close to death. Blown up in an IED attack and shot multiple times she returned home with a fiercer love for life and an unwavering commitment to those around her. Her service spoke volumes of her resilience and unbreakable spirit.

Ever hungry for knowledge, Mizuki

achieved a double master's degree in History at the University of Wyoming.

She sought not only to understand the past but to honor its lessons with integrity and insight.

At the center of her world was her beloved partner Casandra Vega (Sato) a retired Army veteran, with whom she shared a love steeped in mutual respect and enduring support. Mizuki leaves her legacy behind to four children: three boys and one girl; ages 17, 14, 12, and 7 years of age. As a mother, Mizuki was nurturing and steadfast-a fierce protector and boundless source of love.

She is also remembered by her adoptive family in Colorado Springs; affectionately called Dad and Mom, Karl (Void) and Kelly, and sisters Kristen and Lea. Their bonds ran deep and were filled with shared laughter, strength, and a love for riding.

Mizuki embraced

adventure as a way of life; riding motorcycles through canyons, racing across the High Plains Raceway, sharing her passion on social media (TikTok, Facebook, Instagram), riding horseback under open skies, hunting, and fishing in quiet reverie. Nature called to her wild heart; she answered with joyful courage.

Her volunteer work with various charities reflected a soul attuned to others' needs. "Koneko" -kitten - was her nickname: soft yet formidable, gentle yet strong. Her legacy is one of fierce compassion and enduring light.

A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date among those who loved her dearly.

May her memory forever shine as brightly as the fire she carried within. May we all carry her with us in spirit.

"Just do the thing!" -Mizuki Sato
