Moises Malowany Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 11, 2025.
Dr. Moises Salomon Malowany, beloved husband, devoted father, grandfather, great grand father, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, in Miami, Florida, at the age of 90.

Born in Havana, Cuba, on August 10, 1934, Moises lived a life marked by resilience, compassion, and an ambitious fighting spirit. Shortly after graduating medical school, he courageously left communist Cuba, embarking on a journey that would profoundly impact countless lives. Settling in New York City, he swiftly rose to prominence, serving as Director of the Clinical Pathology Lab at Mount Sinai Hospital at Elmhurst in Queens. His dedication and expertise touched innumerable patients and colleagues throughout his distinguished career.

Moises built a thriving medical practice in the Washington Heights community, where his care extended far beyond medical expertise, enriching the lives of patients and families who valued him deeply.

In retirement, Moises embraced life with enthusiasm in South Florida, indulging his passion for world travel, especially enjoying adventures aboard cruise ships exploring numerous countries around the globe. Yet, above all, his greatest joy and deepest love remained his family. Married for 63 beautiful years to his beloved wife, Rose Malowany, Moises was a devoted father to his sons and daughter-in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Israel Malowany and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Malowany, who carry forward his legacy of love, generosity, and kindness. He was survived by his brother Elias, and was a proud grandfather to 3 grandchildren, a great grandchild, a step grandchild and a step great grand child, as well as his best canine friend, Bella Lucera.

Warm-hearted and outgoing, Moises never met a stranger, effortlessly forming lifelong friendships and leaving a lasting imprint on all who knew him. He will be remembered fondly for his vibrant spirit and generosity.

Moises Salomon Malowany's life was a radiant example of compassion, dedication, and joy. He leaves behind a legacy rich in love, friendship, and treasured memories that will forever live in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.
