Mona Dittamore

Dear Rick and Mona, Today is 12-26-2017. I still come to this site to view Mona's photos and all the wonderful messages from her family and friends. I am very glad to have known you both. We will see you at the Resurrection. Be at peace Rick.

I just found out about Mona passing away. I am her cousin Judy. Please let Chris know that I am so sorry to hear this. I was searching for her to reunite and found this. It is heart breaking and my thoughts and prayers are with you please contact me.

Dearest Mona.... What a beautiful celebration of your life Rick and Chris coordinated yesterday. I know that everyone that was there could still feel your kind and gentle spirit. I know I sure did. As I was getting ready to head to your memorial service, I was thinking about all of the reasons that you have been so special to me over all of the years... Because things in my home life were, at times, very chaotic, I could always find a place of calmness and refuge at your home with you and Chris. Because of that example, I knew that there was a better way to live and be...especially as I became an adult and had children of my own. You always knew more about what was going on in my life than my own mom did. I will forever remember and appreciate how easy you were to talk to, never judging me, and never giving me your opinion unless I asked you for it. I had to laugh yesterday because I thought "Mona was such a great listener"...only to realize the irony of that because you being deaf! :) (Sorry...I couldn't resist) I love you so very much. I hope that you are having a cigarette and a cup of coffee with my mom. Please give her a hug for me. I know that I will see you both again. Until then...

Mona I told you one time how jealous I was of you when we were children. You were so cute and loved and you are still cute and loved forever. We had fun with our bathtub bubbles. Love you, Gloria.

In the brief period of time that I knew you, I immediately recognized the kind heart you had and what a great person you where when here on earth with us. Rest in peace and say hi to my baby girl Alessandra in heaven.

Mona was such a warm and Sweet person, she will be greatly missed, my condolences to Rick and their family.

My heart just bleeds when i see that smiling face and know i will not see it again on this side of life. I will miss you alot Mona. XOXO.

Now that I have stopped crying, actually not crying as hard, I wanted to comment of this beautiful tribute to Mona. We spent many mornings and afternoons carpooling to work and I don't know how many times we wound up crying. Of course we even cried when Benson, a character on the TV show Soap, left that show. Such a good heart Mona had and she passed on that trait to her boy. Yes I know he is a successful man, but he is a boy to me and the best son a mother could ask for. Thank you Rick for coming into Mona's life and taking care of her, She deserved to be loved by a kind man like you .May God bless both Rick and Chris and ease their heavy hearts.

This was quite a tribute to Mona. I felt like I knew her better after reading it. I spoke to her several times and we followed each other on FaceBook. I have known Rick since our College days and hope he can find the time to come to New York for a visit. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
