Monica Nanstad Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 25, 2025.
On October 30, 2025 Monica Hope Nanstad of Edina, MN gained her wings and answered Gods call to come home.

Monica was born on March 27, 1951 to Archie and Mildred Nanstad in Minneapolis, MN. Where she was a daddy's girl and took advantage of being the only child, until 1956 when she became a sister. She may not have liked to share the attention but she sure loved her little brother.

Monica graduated in 1969 from St. Paul Central HS. Where she showed her popularity and pride on the pep squad and in Choir.

In 1971 she gave birth to her daughter and claimed that her life truly began.

Monica worked at Univac from 1969-1980 and then Lawson Software from 1981-1993 when she decided to trade in her suits and heels for an apron and sassy attitude working at the Roadhouse and Shantytown Bar & Grill for her daughter and Son-in-Law from 1995-2020.

If it was being a daughter, sister, mother, friend or employee, she was there for everyone through the light and darkness and we all were blessed to have her in our live's.

Monica is preceded in death by her mother Mildred, father Archie, step-father Bill Chapman, son-in-law Peter Taykalo, many grandparents, aunts and uncles. She is survived by her daughter Laura Taykalo and brother Jeff Nanstad.
