Monica Joyce Steed, age 59, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2017 after a 9 month battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer. Before being diagnosed she was the office manager for a private internal medicine practice in Decatur for 17 years. She was a dog lover and enjoyed spending her weekends at the lake.
Monica will be lovingly remembered by her husband Bobby Steed, her daughter and son-in-law Amanda and Matthew Zubrzycki, daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Ronnie Stone, daughter Katie Lang, step son and daughter-in-law Joshua and Jamie Steed, step son and daughter-in-law Austin and Julianne Steed, her six granddaughters Lillian Zubrzycki, Kylie Zubrzycki, Hailey Lang, Kayla Stone, Alison Stone, Aurora Steed and two grandsons John Steed and Bradley Stone, her sister and brothers Jeannine Spradley, Norman Skvarca and Neal Skvarca. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, has charge of arrangements.

I could never have imagined how difficult this would be and how much I would miss you. I'm so glad you are no longer in pain and are happy again. We love and miss you so much. Until I see you again, I love you momma.
