Monie Repass

Monie Buck Repass MARION, Va. Monie Buck Repass, age 97, passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at home. Mrs. Repass was born in Wythe County, Va., to the late Herb and Neta Grubb Buck, and was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charles Willie Repass; a son-in-law, Keith Burdine; brothers and sisters, Elsie Snavely, Cecil Umbarger, Patsy Edmonds, Greek Buck, Edward Buck, Garland Buck, Vance Buck, and an infant sister, Barbara Jean Buck. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and great- great-grandmother who lived a life that exemplified the true meaning of a mother. She was a faithful member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, all types of needle work, cooking and was a friend to all. Mrs. Repass graduated from Kings Grove High School where she was an all star basketball player. Survivors include: two daughters, Rondia R. Burdine, Frankfort, Ky., Nellie B. Gullion and husband Roy "Gus" Gullion, Marion; sisters, Eva B. Spraker and husband Leon, Wytheville, Nadine Dutton and husband Jack, Rural Retreat, Betty B. Crockett, Roanoke, Hazel Cox, Wytheville, Evelyn Hart, Marion; brother, Louis "Bill" Buck and wife Aleane, Atkins; grandchildren, Juli B. Widner, Atkins, Amy B. Stringer and husband Charlie, Roanoke, Christopher Burdine and wife Debbie, Frankfort, Ky., Jason Burdine and fianc‚e Brandi Sorrell, Wilmington, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Watson, Alicia Widner, Evan and Laura Stringer, Caitlyn, Sydney and Brookelyn Burdine; special great-grandson, "Her Boy" Lukas Widner; great-great-grandchildren, Avery Watson and Owen Widner; special friends, Allen and Iris Pennington. Special thanks to her caregivers, Juli Widner, Amy Stringer, Jennifer Watson, Alicia Widner, Iris Pennington and Rita Chrisman of Hospice of SWVA. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Beck and Rev. Mike Teague officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Rural Retreat. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
