Monte Kiffin

Monte was THE GREATEST DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR IN THE HISTORY OF THE NFL!!! Should of been a head coach 1 million %. He gave us Buccaneers fans our greatest achievements and memories. Gone but never forgotten.

Our deepest condolences to the family. We pray that God continues to strengthen and comfort the family during this difficult time.

He was a great football Coach and demonstrated great coaching and influenced players to do well academically to help them accomplish their goals. He will be greatly missed. He had a great impact on me at my community college during recruitment and others remember the day that he showed up to recruit me.

In 1980 first time he introduced himself to the team he told all of us walk on and scholarship players were the same in his eyes. Every player had a shot at playing . Coach gave me my shot at a scholarship and believed in me and my abilities as a Tight End

Monte and his family have been neighbors of ours in Redington Beach for the past 25 years. Monte would regularly jog through the neighborhood, was always friendly, and he would even stop by our house to talk football with the boys. Monte was a football icon, but more importantly he was a normal guy, and a good friend, he will definitely be missed. Condolences to the Kiffin family. -the Fishes

I am so very saddened to learn of Monte's death. He and Coach Beck had such a strong relationship through the years. Sadly, my husband died in April. My hearts go out to all of you. I know that he treasured each and everyone one of you and all the grandchildren with all his heart. Monte was a kind, generous, man and a brilliant football coach. I wanted to tell Larry today that Monte had died and then I realized that Larry already knew........ You are in my heart and prayers.

Monte Kiffin was one of a kind as a head coach at NC State. He not only motivated players but also the student fans with some great on campus pep rallies before big games. As a walk on, I appreciated his encouragement and discipline to make us all better people and players. RIP coach.
