Mooneam Frances (Nip) West, entered Eternal Rest on July 19, 2025, peacefully at her daughter's home. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio on January 23, 1937, to Raymond F. and Helen (Margetko) West.

Mooneam was a 1965 graduate of Canfield High School and was a delegate to Buckeye Girls' State in 1953. She was elected Ellsworth Township fiscal officer and served from 1980-2012. She was secretary to the superintendent at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center from 1972-2006 and volunteered at Help Hotline and Hospice of the Valley for many years.

Mooneam was a member of the Canfield Lions Club and enjoyed traveling and reading.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter Cathy (John) Wilms, Franklin Square and son Dr. James Cain, granddaughters Sarah (Matthew) Carroll, Salem and Dr. Abbey (Dr. Johnathon) McCann, DVM, North Jackson, four great- grandchildren Greyson (12) and Easton (9) Carroll and Emmett (8) and Rosemary Frances (5) McCann, two sisters Sally (Gary) Russell, Libson and Karen Mazzarella, Salem, a sister-in-law Madeline West of Hilliard, numerous nieces and nephews as well as life-long friends Janet Barger, Girard and Carol Payne of Monroe, NC.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Raymond West II. Special thanks to Aunt Sally for total devotion these last weeks and Clayton Charnesky for visiting and calling.

Per her request, there are no calling hours or services.

Arrangements for Mrs. West are being provided by the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown.
