To The Family of Morgan White,
I don't know what better tribute to the impact of your Father and Husband than to hear from someone like me. I must by now be just a distant memory for Morgan White's son, my old Niu Valley and Kalani school chum Charlie.
My recollection of Mr. White, however, is vivid - a kind and generous man who always took the time to make us school kids feel welcome and somehow not just kids. There weren't many adults back then who went out of their way to make us a feel valued, but Mr. White certainly did. I am honored to have met and known this wonderful man of such uncommon strength and character.
I wish the family of the great and kind Pogo Poge comfort and peace in your time of loss. He will live on in the fond memories of all he touched.

I was born and raised in Hawaii and watched Checkers and Pogo after school for many years, along with a generation of Hawaii's children. Brother White will always be remembered affectionately as Pogo Poge to thousands of us, whose lives he touched. Aloha.

Growing up in Logan, I remember Morgan for his keen wit and the joy it brought into my life. Being in the TV broadcast business myself, I had a chance to work with Morgan on a project in the early 1980's. What a joy that was. Rest in peace my friend.
