Mozelle Pauline Mills

Mrs. Mozelle Pauline Mills, age 92, of Weches, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 in the East Texas Medical Center-Crockett. Mrs. Mills was born August 28, 1917 in Nacogdoches County, Texas and had lived in Weches most of her lifetime. She was a housewife and a member of the Weches Baptist Church. Mrs. Mills enjoyed cooking and was always happy when she could cook a good meal for family and friends. She was the last of the "Pioneer Women" she could skin a buck, run a trot line and pop a chalk line. Survivors include her children, Carlon Fagan of California, Duane Mills and wife, Alice of Weches; grandchildren, Lesa Steele and husband, Mark of New Jersey, Cecil D. (Bubba) Mills of Weches, Josh Mills and wife, Kay Kay of Weches, David Mills and wife, Katherine of Grapeland; great-grandchildren, Alan Mills and wife, Karen of San Augustine, Alisha Sharp and husband, Nick of Lufkin, Matthew Steele of New Jersey, Michael Steele of New Jersey, Danielle Lewis of Weches, Isaac Lewis of Weches, Zachery Lewis of Weches; great-great-grandchildren, Shane Alan Mills of San Augustine, Tory Mills of San Augustine, Serena Mills of San Augustine, Sevrin Sharp of Lufkin, Nicholas Duane Sharp of Lufkin; brothers, William Brandon of Nacogdoches, Charles Brandon of North Carolina; and her baby, Cricket; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by husband, of 67 years, Cecil Mills; grandson, Shane Mills; granddaughters-in-law, Rashelle Mills and Donna Mills; great-great-grandson, Chazdon Sharp. Funeral services for Mrs. Mozelle Pauline Mills will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Grapeland with Rev. Duane Mills and Mr. Josh Mills officiating. Interment will follow in the Mills Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
