Jones and Son Funeral Home, Richton
11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton, for Mr. Gary Dale Crowder, age 84, of Richton. Mr. Crowder passed from this life on January 31, 2023 at his residence. Bro. John Odom will officiate the service and burial will follow in Harmony Crowder Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerrid Sutton, Nathan Sutton, Gary David Crowder, Reeves Crowder, Cannon Crowder, Garrett Crowder, Hunter Hensarling, Kevin Crowder, Andrew Cornett and Kevin Babson.
Mr. Crowder was a member of the Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Hattiesburg. He was also a member of the Ovett Masonic Lodge #561. He enjoyed hunting, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, playing with his great grandchildren, taking care of his cows on the family farm, and worshipping the Lord at his church. Mr. Crowder was retired from Sanderson Farms, where he was a Service Pullett Supervisor, after 30 years of service.
Mr. Crowder was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward and Bertha Crowder, Jr.; and siblings, Richard Crowder, Mary Francis Crowder, and Linda Joyce Crowder.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Fay Crowder of Richton; sons, David Crowder, Terry (Latresa) Crowder, both of Ovett, and Grant (Anita Shawn) Crowder of Ellisvile; daughter, Stacy (Bubba) Sutton of Ovett; grandchildren, Jerrid (Jessica) Sutton of Petal, Nathan Sutton of Nebraska, Danielle (Kevin) Babson of Sumrall, Gary David Crowder of Sumrall, Terra Smith of Petal, Erica (Andrew) Cornett of Petal, Hunter (Laiken) Hensarling of Petal, Garrett Crowder of Petal, Caidyn Crowder of Ellisville, Reeves Crowder of Ellisville, Emma Crowder of Laurel, Cannon Crowder of Ellisville, and McKinnley Shows of Petal; 11 great grandchildren; and siblings, Helen (Morris) Bankston of Laurel, Carol Bates of Ovett, Harold (Judy) Crowder of Terry, Steve (Joannie) Crowder of Harrisville, and Debra Crowder of Georgia.
