Leon attended Carver High School in Houston, Texas until the eleventh grade. He later obtained his GED.
He met and married Linda and to this union one son, Leon Jr. was born. Leon and Linda were married for fifty years.
Leon was an Associate Minister at Fontaine First Baptist Church. He continued to serve in this position until his health began to fail.
Leon leaves to mourn his memory: his wife; Linda, son; Leon Jr., granddaughter; Jada Stewart-Turner, Jada’s mother; Christine Stewart and daughter; Maria Stewart. He also leaves; Patricia Dinnon, Clifford Turner, Mayor Sylvester Turner, Robert Turner, Jacqueline Turner, Donald Ray Turner (Debra), Everett Turner (Doris) of San Antonio, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

hey papa this is jada your granddaughter i just wanted you to know that i really love and miss you and that you are a good person and that you will never be forgotten and that you are still here in my heart even tho it wasn't time for you to go but god wanted you to come home and that i know that you are looking down on me and watching everything i do and right now u are looking at me write this letter to you and you saying that you never left you are still here watching my every move and that you are a love and caring person and i love you for that and that you will check on everyone and my sweet 16 is coming up papa your granddaughter is going to be 16 and ik when i am at my birthday party u are going to be looking down right at me n it's going to make you happy bc you are seeing me grow up into a young adult and like we tell each other u are always gonna be here n that you are looking down at your wife too and you are telling her to be strong and that you are still by her side and that you are still by my side too and that you going to be by my side all the way though and that i really really miss u and i really wish it wasn't you but god said that its your time and that i love you papa

Uncle Mike you will be missed always you were always a happy person and loved to preach and talk about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You always wanted to make sure that the family knew Jesus. R.I.H uncle Mike until we all meet again in heaven. Aunt Linda and Jr. just know that God makes no mistakes continued prayers for your strength.
