Jeremiah 29:11- For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
In 1991, I left Togo which was a political tumultuous place seeking a higher education and better future at Tuskegee. For all I know, when I got on that plane, I could have landed anywhere where evil could have destroyed me. Instead, during my first semester, I ran into a man, Dr. Ngandu, who, little did I know, was tediously preparing a placeholder for me to reach my dreams. He was the first man to believe in my computer and typing skills to offer me job. He was the first man that put his trust in me, outside my immediate family. While I worked for him for 4 years, I witness amicable, respectful, courteous, international, intelligent and innovative professionalism. Under his wings, I grew in confidence as a man and had a good role model in my life; priceless. His tireless pursuit in research and innovation transcends continents and today is making a different in Water quality testing in Alabama and Agriculture around the world.
God gave you many gifts that you used obediently, Dr. Ngandu. I heard that after I Ieft Tuskegee, you kept opening doors for many other student like me. God Bless you !
What you did for me, was like the works of Angels whom God puts in our life to fulfill his destiny. The countless students and friends that you influenced and helped, today, mourn for you and thank you with deep gratitude. Rest in peace my angel.

This is the man who guided me in my choice of studies in college. I chose agricultural economics because of the great admiration and respect that I had for him. You were monumental in shaping my career and the person that I am today. You welcomed me in your home like your son. Your advices and guidance are serving me even today. I praise God for putting you in my path. I lack words to express my gratitude and how much I will miss you. Many of us African students Tuskegee Alumni have benefited from your big heart and giving hand. Thank you Dr Ngandu.

Here goes a good man ! A man with a big heart. Thank you my brother for your visit and climbing the Zomba mountain in Malawi with Tshilumba, Charlotte and me. We had Kilimandjaro on the list to touch the sky, but Almighty God decided otherwise.
Rest in peace my brother.

Ill miss our early morning tennis games with my dad n sister. Our wonderful dinner conversations with my parents at your home. Your smile, hearty laughter....unforgettable. Few people are more patient than you are. We will see one another again, eventually. Were always going to have something stimulating to discuss . See you next time Dr. Ngandu.
