In memory of
Michele Aluia
January 30, 2011
I have never known life without Muriel. She married my Dad when I was a very young child. I was with them weekends, and summers after they moved to Florida. When I was growing up having divorced parents was not the norm, but I think in some ways I was more fortunate than some kids that had both their parents at home. My Dad and (Muriel) spent quality time with us. I have many wonderful memories of roller skating, the zoo, boating, sledding, the State Fair, Greenfield Village & Museum, nights spent at their house, airboat rides in the Everglades, Jungle Queen cruises, picnics on the beach….I could go on and on. I felt loved when I was with them. Over the years we became very close….she was my Mom and I was her daughter. The last time I saw her was in October. She was frail, but insisted she was well enough for us to visit. I have never known another person as kind, nurturing and giving as she was. I will never forget her and the love she gave me. Rest in peace Mom. I love you & miss you. Michele

On many occasions Muriel was an understanding an patient mother to me. I did not keep in touch with her, but now I have that to live with and not to change. I cheated myself in that way and I apologize to her and to Jerry and to my Dad. She certainly was the best friend my Dad ever had and he knew it and I am thankful for it. Bobby

It is so sad to have lost Muriel but I am sure there is a spot in heaven for her along with her family and friends that have gone before her.
Muriel and her family were my neighbors for many years growning up. She took me to school for first grade that was over 68 years ago and we were always close, even thou we were apart by distance. She was like family and we were all so proud of what she made of her life.
She was great fun and we had many late nights and wee early mornings of good times and laughter. I can remember when she bought her first car a Nash Rambler and we would have drag races against the guy's on Oakman Blvd. in Detroit - She alway won! We had great times that I will alway remember and I love her and will miss her alot. She was a friend that can never be replaced.
My deepest sympathy to her wonderful husband, Jerry and to Randy and Michelle.
Rest in peace, dear Muriel.

Muriel was my inspiration on how to keep families together when events such as, divorce may have triggered a different direction. She was the most altruist person I knew and I am grateful God sent her to me to give me her living example.

I've known Muriel for over 40 years. She was one of the most intelligent, kindest, open-hearted people I have ever known. She opened her home to me, my 5 children, one dog and a bird when my family was in dire straits. She was my confidante, my advisor, my pal, my sister. As the years passed we grew away from each other, but reconnected a few years ago. We picked up our friendship as if no time at all had passed. By then she was suffering with health problems. We continued to stay in touch by email. I am grateful that I did have the chance to really thank her for the support she gave me when I was so vulnerable. I will miss her so much, but somehow I feel that she is still beside me.
This is Muriel and me when I first came to Florida in 1978 and she welcomed me into her home until I could get myself settled here.

Muriel was a very strong woman with a big heart. I was lucky to have her as a relative. She was my cousin, but much more like a sister to me. She was there when I reallty needed her. She always listened to me without judging. She was my best friend and I loved her very much. She was so important to me and I will miss her so much. Joanne Casabon (Elkins)

So sorry to learn of this loss. Muriel was some one I truly admired. She defined what character should be.
