William Jensen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 30, 2010.
William Frank JENSEN William Frank Jensen, who preferred to be known as Frank Jensen, Jr., died May 15 at the age of 80. A native and life time resident of Seattle, and descendant of one of Seattle's early pioneering families, Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Bettie Jean Jensen, three children, Linda Jean Dolor (Bryne), of Ocean City, Washington, Frank Wayne Jensen (Chriss), of Issaquah, and William J. Jensen of Seattle; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. For many years Frank worked with his father, William Frank Jensen, Sr. in the well known Star Foundry in Seattle, later known as South Seattle Foundry, which had been acquired a century ago by Frank's grandfather, Wilhelm Jacob Jensen who had come to Seattle from Germany inthe late 1800's and was himself a fifth generation foundryman. The foundry was closed in the 1970s but many Seattle manhole and street meter covers still bear its logo. Frank was active in commercial real estate ventures in Seattle for many years before retiring recently to Bellevue. Frank will be greatly missed by his extended family, friends and business associates. A memorial celebration of Frank's life will be held on Saturday, June 5 at 1:00 p.m. at the family home. Remembrances may be made to an animal welfare society of one's choice.

Dear Grandpa,

I have so many great memories of you in all of my 23 years. I loved all of our family diners and going to the ocean, but the one thing that comes to my mind when I think of you is how you were such a strong man. You are my hero and someone I've always looked up to. I try everyday to be more and more like you. I admire the way you were such a family man with a huge heart and I hope I can be half as strong as you were. I will miss you until I see you again. I love you Grandpa.

Your loving Granddaughter,
Elizabeth (Jensen) Brown

Grandpa,
There is so many wonderful memories I have of you. My sister and I always refered to you as the "wise old owl" if we ever had a question or an idea we would ask you how we would should go about doing it and you would take the time to explaine it to us. Alot of the time our ideas would be 'pipe dreams" and you would just lean back in your chair, smile, shake your head and put your hands together and rest them on your belly and start telling us how you would do it.
You were such a Huge part of my life. I loved to give you a hug and kiss because your after shave smelt so good on you. As a little girl I would get so excited everytime my mom said we are going to grandmas and grandpas or you would be coming to our house. You were the rock of our family and will be missed very much. Because of you I had a wonderful life. You did so much for me I am very thankful. My memories of The Foundry,The Ranch, Arizona, Alpental and The Ocean are just a few. I had a amazing childhood and you are to Thank. Even though we are all so sad I keep telling myself you are in a much better place with your parents, sisters and all of the dogs that you loved so very much.
I think about you everyday and try not to cry but I can't help it.. I just hope you know how much I truly appreciate everything you did for me and how VERY much I love and will miss you..
I will see you one day again in heaven..

Dear Grandpa,

I remember when I would tell my mom and dad that I was sick just so I did not have to go to school. Instead I would get to go to the Jensen Group with you and dad. I would sit in your office and play with the train that went through the building. You always had this bowl on your desk full of candy that you would always let me eat. I remember whenever I got to spend the day with you and dad at the office, you would take us out to lunch at Rudy and Sally's Kitchenet. I loved it. You were always there for all of my school function, and Civil Air Patrol. I thank you for being there for me, and I will still always be there for you. I love you dearly grandpa and you are truly missed. Just remember that I am always thinking about you.

Yours Truly,
Your youngest granddaughter,
Vicki Lynn Jensen
