I met Murray for the first time on a windy and blustery golf course (Craigielaw), having being introduced by a mutual friend. He was such an easy guy to get on with we became chums and he joined Prestonfield. We played golf and joined the committee at the same time - and he was instrumental in helping the club get through a difficult time. So I can definitely say one of the good guys, a loving family man and was always willing to take time to help out where he could. He will be fondly remembered - one of life's true gents.

I consider myself fortunate to have known Murray and privileged to have enjoyed his friendship. We met through business and it was through this that I quickly became aware of Murray's immense character and integrity as a man. We faced up to incredible business turmoil in those early days and I have no doubt that we would not have succeeded without Murray's doggedness, determination and loyalty. They say you learn a lot about people when the going gets tough! I learnt that I was in the presence of a very special man. Always in my thoughts top man x
