Aunt Musa once told me about a young woman who had gone to Japan with a mission group that included my Uncle Floyd Powers. They had met at college, trained as missionaries and ended up both in Japan. From her perspective he didn't know she existed but she was hopeless in love.  She knew her feelings were a distraction from her mission so she prayed that God would take away her feelings so she could focus on what she felt she had been called to do.

I don't remember how many times she had to pray that prayer or how long before my Uncle began to show interest in her.
She said she reacted with a question of Really God?

They were married in Japan.

I was very impressed and have tried to follow her example of asking God not for my hearts desire but for his will.
