Myrna Flannery Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 15, 2025.
Myrna Flannery (née Altman), age 82, passed away on November 1, 2025, in Kerrville, Texas. Born on March 17, 1943, in Clayton, New Mexico, Myrna lived a life marked by creativity, warmth, and a deep appreciation for beauty in all its forms.

She graduated from Clayton High School and later pursued her passion for fashion at Woodbury College in Los Angeles, California, where she earned a degree in fashion design. From an early age, Myrna displayed an extraordinary talent for sewing and design. She began sewing alongside her mother Sadie at the age of eight and quickly developed a flair for creating beautiful garments. Over the years, she not only sewed most of her own clothes but also became a gifted designer whose work reflected both skill and imagination.

Myrna's artistic talents extended beyond fashion into the world of floral design. She worked for Vel Camps Flowers in Denver, where her innovative arrangements earned her several awards. Her eye for color and composition made her a standout in the field. Later in life, she discovered quilting-a craft that combined her love of fabric and design-and once again distinguished herself by winning multiple awards for her intricate and expressive quilt designs.

Those who knew Myrna remember her as cheerful and funny, with a generous spirit and an infectious joy for life. Her creativity was matched by her kindness; she gave freely of her time and talents to those around her.

Myrna was preceded in death by her sisters Gwendolynne Skinner and LaVerne Altman; her mother Sadie Love Harris Altman; and her father Reginald Neal "Webby" Altman. She is lovingly remembered by her niece Denise Skinner and nephew Webby Skinner.
