Myrta Ann Latimer Garrett

Sorry for the loss of a dear loved one. May you find comfort during this grieving moment. Psalm 105:4.

Although I didn't know Myrta for very long, I will always remember how welcoming she was when we first visited our LifeGroup. She had a ready smile, a quiet spirit, and always a twinkle in her eye. Our prayers are with the Garrett family as Myrta was such a special lady.

She will always be remembered for her kindness and love for others. We will be praying for the family.

We remember Mrs. Garrett with great respect and admiration. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Garrett family.

Dr. Garrett, I am so sorry for the death of Mrs. Garrett, because I know you will miss her so much. I knew her during my brief time at Baylor as a gracious lady who welcomed graduate students into her home. Thank you for the inspiration that both of you have been to me since I first met you.

Mrs. Garrett exemplified the example of Christian service, Christian character, and Christian love. She will be missed by so many but I suppose that God needed a librarian.

Many supervisors have watched my work but none so sympathetic, encouraging and patient at the seminary library. She was certainly a blessing to all those around her.

I miss and will miss her presence...every part of her physical and spiritual essence...her kind words of encouragement and acceptance...her love and guidance...her brilliance....her reverence.

I miss Myrta but am so, so grateful I got to know her and worship with her for these last 10 years or so. I'm not eloquent so can't express what a beautiful, Godly, loving person went home to her Lord on Friday, but I do know the most precious saint I've ever known has left the world a much better place for having been here.

Say the name "Mrs. Garrett" and those who knew her will automatically smile. She was the most Godly lady I've known, with Christ shining through her smile and warm hugs. Mrs. Garrett was also a great listener. When you were speaking to her, you knew you had her full attention. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. When I learned of her passing, a big smile came just thinking about the celebration in heaven when this saint went home!
