Nancee A. Kretschmer, 48, of Wabasha, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014.

She was born March 7, 1965, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Carolyn (Backdahl) Ochsner. She was a 1983 graduate of Wabasha-Kellogg High School and a 1987 graduate of the College of St. Benedict's in St. Joseph. She married Timothy Kretschmer Sept. 3, 1989, at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha. Nancee worked for over 21 years as the religious education director for the Catholic parishes of St. Felix in Wabasha, St. Agnes in Kellogg and St. Charles Borromeo in St. Charles. She also worked several years as a certified personal trainer for Anytime Fitness in Wabasha.

She was a devoted and active member of St. Felix Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women, having served every post in the organization, including president. Nancee was also a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters. She had a deep and abiding love for her faith and her church. She was involved in all aspects of St. Felix Parish, including St. Felix School and its education, community relations and fundraising efforts.

Some of her interests included baking and cooking. Her lasagna was enjoyed by many over the years. She was also an avid quilter. Nancee was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She leaves an indelible mark on her family, church and community. 

Nancee is survived by her husband of nearly 25 years, Timothy Kretschmer, Wabasha; daughter, Jennifer Kretschmer of Wabasha and her fiance, John Terseck of Centreville, Va.; son, Charles Kretschmer, Wabasha; parents, Peter and Carolyn Ochsner, Wabasha; brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Donna Ochsner, Maple Grove; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Brian Wolfe, Wabasha; nephews, Christopher and Andrew Wolfe; niece, Stephanie Ochsner; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha, with the Rev. Monsignor Thomas Cook, the Rev. Father Joseph LaPlante and Deacon John Hust officiating. Cremation of her body will follow the church service.

Casket bearers will be Peter Ochsner, Charles Kretschmer, Stephen Ochsner, Brian Wolfe, Kevin Kretschmer and John Killen.

Interment will be in St. Felix Cemetery at a later date.

Family and friends may call at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha on Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., where there will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. They may also call at the church on Wednesday one hour before the service.

Memorials in Nancee's name are preferred to St. Felix School Adopt-A-Student Program. 130 Third St. E., Wabasha, MN  55981.

Tim, Jennifer, Charlie and Family,
We will treasure our memories of times in the Keys, Christmas Eve Dinners, and gatherings at the Lanmans and the Bevillards. Nancee was a gentle, caring and kind soul. She will be missed. Her love and light lives on in all who she touched.
