You are always on my mind. I remember how your face lit up whenever Neil Diamonds, “Sweet Caroline” came on and how you would dance. When I am at my Cardio Drumming class I am happiest when the group beats along to it - we all love it! It gladdens my heart and I know that you are with me, if only briefly.

Another year gone without you.
I don’t like being matriarch of the family - too much responsibility, so much stress. This past year has been dreadful having to watch another loved one die from cancer. My beloved husband passed a year ago and the grief has been unbearable at times. I have come to appreciate your strength and compassion. You are loved and deeply missed.

Lately, I have found myself traveling the same path you had taken in retirement - a day filled with talking with Johnny at the gas station, standing in line at the post office, a quick stop at Clements, using Peoples Credit Union drive-through, picking up medications from the pharmacy, paying the water bill, and of course, buying that amazing cup of coffee and decadent donut from Dunkin. Our selections may be different, but the ritual remains intact. I find this comforting, yet I miss you more because of it.

My Aunt Nancy was an amazing woman. I was lucky enough to grow up next door to her and my Uncle Ed. Their door was always open and she was always their to listen and help me all through my teenage years right up to adult hood. Nancy was a tough cookie, rarely accepting help but always there to help others. She will forever have a special place in my heart.

We think of Nancy often. She was such a good friend to us all, especially my dad (her Bobby). We loved and miss our Vermont days. We also miss her overall presence. She was definitely a person to be reckoned with, in a good way. We love and miss her always.

I miss our long talks about life, love, and learning. I still reach for the phone to call you on my drive home from work. Love you more each day gone.
