LAS VEGAS - Nancy Cardella, 88, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, peacefully in her Las Vegas home.
She was born Feb. 11, 1918, to Fred and Lucy Sineni. She married Joseph Cardella on June 10, 1937, in the McHenry County courthouse in Woodstock. They began their family in Wrigleyville, Chicago, and moved to Cary in 1959.
She was well-known for her outstanding breakfast cooking at Cardella's Tap & amp; Restaurant in Cary. She retired from cooking in 1987, and she and her husband retired to Las Vegas in 1989. Her home always was open, and all were welcome; she and her husband loved to entertain, especially their family, and food always was abundant.
Survivors include three sons, Salvatore (Connie) Cardella of McHenry; Frederick (Debra) Cardella of Las Vegas and formerly of Cary; Charles Cardella of Las Vegas and formerly of Cary; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Sylvia Sineni Dubman; a brother, Sam Sineni; and her parents.
The visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at Palms Mortuary, 1600 Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, with a Mass service at 10 a.m. Monday, March 20.
Interment will be at noon at Veterans Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City, Nev.
