Nancy L. (Wagner) Darrah of Carmel, Indiana, age 91, passed peacefully on November 1, 2021, surrounded by family. Nancy was born September 27, 1930, in Lakewood, Ohio. She was the “surprise” baby of A. Michael and Gertrude (Hueber) Wagner, and much loved by her two older sisters and brother. She spent most of her childhood years in Rutherford, New Jersey, before moving to Indianapolis at age 11, where both of her parents were from. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1949. She attended Herron School of Art for two years after winning a poster design contest. In March of 1951, she married Bernard A. Darrah of Indianapolis. They were married for 41 years until his death in 1992, and raised four children in Speedway, Indiana. Nancy retired from Indiana Duplicator Corp. after 22 years and she and Bernard retired to their beloved lake house at Prince’s Lakes, Indiana. In her later years, she moved to Franklin, Indiana, and then in 2018 to a senior living community in Carmel. She was a lifelong learner, always curious, who enjoyed travel, reading, and a good game of Euchre.
Nancy is survived by her four children: Susan (William) Perez, Anne (Larry) Boley, Marcy (Michael) Lowery, and Mark (Ann) Darrah, along with nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love for her family and friends who will always remember her zest for life and ability to make friends everywhere she went.
All are encouraged to make a donation in Nancy’s honor to the charity of their choice. And to always spread kindness.
The family requests that any unvaccinated visitors please wear a mask. Thank you for your consideration.

What a great friend Nancy and her family were to my family! I feel so fortunate to have so many fond memories with with them. I am sad to hear of her passing but happy that she lived a long, blessed life, and was loved by everyone. I love this old picture (one of many) from our lake house at Prince’s Lake.
