Nancy Desenfants Junker Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 21, 2023.
Nancy DesEnfants Junker, 71 of Tucson, passed away peacefully in her sleep and went home to the Lord in the early morning hours of February 18, 2023. Nancy was born in Lafayette Indiana on April 5 1951 as the last child and only daughter of Millie and Ernie DesEnfants. She was the apple of her parent's eye and had 3 older brothers Jim, Gerry, and Rick who teased her a bit but who always championed and protected her, as brothers do. Jim and Gerry and her beloved dad Ernie, among so many other loved ones, were already there in Heaven to greet her. Her beloved 21-year-old dog Ollie passed one week after she did and so they are together again on the other side as well.

She was also preceded by Bill Carlton, whom she was married to for 18 years and they remained good friends long after the parting. Together they had three children, Jennifer (Joshua) Pace, of Tempe AZ, Joshua (Nichole) Carlton of Eugene Or and Jamy (Pete Carreno) Carlton of Savannah Ga. Her grandchildren Charley (Brandon) Connery, Sydne (James Golden) Pace, Penelope and Elliott Carlton, Anna White, and Justice and Gabriel Nichols, and Sage Viscaarra: all loved her and miss her.

She fell in love and married Leonard "Taz" Junker in 1998 and they had a long and happy marriage, having just celebrated their Silver Anniversary ten days before she passed. Taz and Nancy loved each other deeply and together they created a warm happy home full of animals in the deserts of Tucson. She was also loved and will be missed by her step-children Amy Hawkins and Aaron Junker and all of her grandchildren including Jaron, Jazmyne, Jayden, James, and Connor all are in Tucson.

Nancy loved life, her family, and her animals deeply. She was always ready for a new adventure, whether a surprise trip to Disneyland, an animal that needed a good home, or simply to jump in the car and discover shiny treasures at the neighborhood yard sale, she knew how to drink up life and she was happiest to live it with those that she loved. She was smart and creatively resourceful, she loved to dance, read, and travel. All of us as her family are grateful for the gift of having her funny, sweet and loving presence in all our lives. We love you to the Moon and back.

Missing you extra hard today nana. Remembering the late nights we´d stay up and watch awful reality tv and eat angel food cake and lunchables you´d bedazzle something while we watched and giggled. I hope everything is sparkly where you are nana
