Nancy Foster Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 9, 2025.
Nancy Ann Foster passed away on February 15, 2025, at her home in Darington, Washington from a bout of pneumonia. She is survived by her two children, Christina and Seth Cunha; her mother, Ann Foster; and her three siblings, Mary, Patricia, and Kathleen.

Nancy led an intrepid life. She was born in Connecticut, graduated from High School in Wisconsin, and went on to get her Bachelor's Degree in Illinois. Growing up you could find Nancy beachside with a book in her hand. She spent many summers in East Hampton with her friends and family. After moving around some more, she found her way to Texas where she met her soulmate and husband, John Cunha. They eventually settled in Snohomish, Washington in 1995 to raise their family and build their lives together. They spent many of those years hiking, boating to places like Coupeville, WA and going on adventures.

Nancy rose up in the telecom industry quickly and was a key player in helping South Korea develop their telecom systems; Nancy was a shining star in the telecom industry and left a lasting impact on those who followed in her footsteps.

Her family will remember her as a generous, adventurous, and giving person who was not afraid to take risks. Although she lived in Washington, Nancy maintained deep friendships from coast to coast. She especially treasured her many lifelong friendships and maintained strong connections with those she loved.

A celebration of Nancy's life will be held in Darington, WA, at a date yet to be determined.

Nancy, I have will always have fond memories of working with you. Our cubicles were either next to each other or close enough. We Shared stories of each others work life, our personal life and our passion for books. We both loved books!! Her husband John had recorded War and Peace on CD´s, what a stack was that, she shared those with me, so I could listen to them while commuting to work. We were always recommending books to each other, I truly missed her and our conversations after she had to leave for medical reasons.
May you rest in peace dear friend.

I always remember getting Christmas and birthday cards growing up from the one sister my dad never had come visit... then we finally met, that I could actually remember, when I was on my road trip from California back to Tennessee and spent Thanksgiving and the week together, getting to know each other, but it was like we knew each other my whole life. I am so sorry that I never made it back again in time to share more memories, but that one week together and the cards of kind sentiments growing up, will be forever treasured and never forgotten. You will be truly missed, Aunt Nancy!

I met Nancy while working for NYNEX Mobile in the 90's. She was a trusted colleague and oh, so smart. Loved working with her. I would later work with her sister, Kathleen at T-Mobile in Washington. I was glad but saddened and surprised when Kathleen called to say Nancy had passed. She was just good people.
