Although I moved away from East Jackson some time ago I never forgot my visits with Nancy and what a fun person she was. She slways made me feel welcome, told stories about the great vacations she took and encouraged me to buy season tickets to the Repatory Theater (which I did.) I am so saddened by her passing and will always feel a loss knowing she isn't with us anymore.

"Miss Nancy" will be so very missed by her neighbors. She was truley a heart that reached out to all those around her. Her wonderful conversations, sharp wit, glasses of wine offered along with warm seats to accomodate, as well as open doors to enter and cookies for all the children will always be remembered and missed.
An amazing life lived. To all of her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren-there was never a time I visited that those in the family tree were not doted over or bragged upon, nor a time that she did not mention her love- Tubby. She spoke of all of you so fondly, loved all of you so deeply and was so proud to share your stories and accomplishments, wether a birth, a "first step" as you began to walk, " a story from a day in your life," or the accomplishment of a higher degree, a marriage (or the spousal story-yes, you too were included...). Everything you did made her world a memory worth a "good share" over a glass of wine, picture(s) included if there was one anywhere to be found-she would provide the visuals to add to the story's appeal. The other stories of her bothers and her parents, growing up days and those of the neighborhood and it's residents past and present could fill hours of lively entertainment and companionship. Nancy will always hold a dear place in my heart. For the record, she reminded me always that Aidan, my grandson, to whom she offered cookies regularly, share the same birthday, and shared a story or two with him along the way.

Dear Jay, Jen, and family,
Your granny sounds like a wonderful woman, and by the photo your family posted of her, she must have been a hoot! I'm so sorry for your loss.

Nancy's passing marks the end of an era for our Webster Groves/East Jackson families and deeply saddens us. Nancy was our mother's best friend and our neighbor for many wonderful years. Her children were our childhood 'siblings' sharing experiences and memories as we grew up playing on the quiet stree of East Jackson and nearby Blackburn Park. Nancy kept in touch and continued to share memories, kindness and love after our own mother's death. She was a dear, dear lady who will be missed greatly and remembered with tremendous fondness.

Nancy was a close friend of my mom, Mary Parker. My mom would come over to visit, and it was also a joy to get to accompany her and enjoy the warm hospitality of Nancy and the rest of the family, who were often there in recent days. My mom has moved recently after the death of my father, Charles Parker in April, so I guess that Webster Groves is now devoid of some of their best citizens!

My best wishes to the family, the maker of the best Brownies in the world!

I had the privilege ot meeting Nancy during home health visits about twenty years ago when I was a nurse and she was recovering from an illness. I looked forward to our visits, and stayed as long as I could because I so enjoyed our conversations and getting to know her. She was a great lady - intelligent, caring, fun! I have moved away from Webster, but have often said some of the best people I've ever known lived in Webster, and I consider her one of them.

My sincere sympathies to the Harkey family! Nancy was a wonderful person - funny, opinionated, thoughtful, humble and loved her family, and a fantastic cook!. I especially extend condolences to Tom, Scott and his family. I was so fortunate to have had her for a mother in law even though for a short time. She was a great influence on her grandkids, especially Scott. I was so thankful that she took such good care of him!! I will forever be in her debt. So sorry to you all for your loss.

Glad Nancy is in a better place...I was worried when her 'granny juice' did not taste good to her. Soooo glad I got to spend some time with her on my most recent visit. I will do my utmost to be there on the 15th.
