Nancy Bea Hefley, the longtime organist for Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Dodgers, died March 29, 2025 at the age of 89.
Hefley began playing piano and accordion while still a child, learning the organ in her teen years and eventually becoming organist at Bellflower Baptist Church. She played there for more than 50 years, and she met her husband, Bill, there. In 1988, after previous Dodgers organist Helen Dell announced her retirement, Hefley auditioned for the job. She won the role and ended up in the position for 27 years, becoming a fan favorite during the heyday of broadcasting legend Vin Scully (1927–2022) and Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda (1927–2021). She retired after the 2015 season.
"We knew she was a rare treasure and we are so blessed she was able to share her talent to the world. She was and will remain a very talented lady," her daughter, Nancy Bea Keulen Hefley, said on Facebook. "Thank you again for sharing your wonderful stories of our Mom to us and to the world and please keep them coming … To all the Dodgers fans: she loved you all and loved the pictures, posts and comments. Please know she talked so much about all the fans."

Im so sorry to hear about Nancy´s passing. I still miss her playing on tv( I live in FL but get all the games. She really watched the games and had a sense of humor with her playing. I remember her times of playing Three Blind Mice when the umps were off their game! She always had songs apropo for situations! Vin Scully loved her playing, always giving her her due. I have her cd of ballpark play! So many great memories from a great lady!
