I convinced Nancy´s mom to let Nancy go to a mainstream type camp with me one summer. I was 11 and Nancy, 15. We had been friends for several years, and while at the camp, I helped Nancy win first place in a drawing contest. I was happy to see Nancy enjoying herself learning how to row, canoe, learn how to shoot a now and arrow, and make pottery. Her mom was worried that Nancy would have difficulties because she was the only non-hearing person there, but as I knew Nancy pretty well, I helped with explanations and interactions. I´m glad to see Nancy worked as a baker!
