I was to pick Nancy up at the Saalbach, Austria airport on Christmas Eve, 1966, where she had flown from Paris while associated with Lisa Minnelli. I was late due to snow driving, and she was sitting on her suitcase, with the airport closing. We made it back to Saalbach. At midnight we went to midnight mass at a small Catholic church. Exiting the church, a trumpeter was standing in the belfrey playing "Silent Night". It was snowing and small lighted candles had been placed atop all the headstones in the adjacent cemetery. Nancy said it was the most poignant moment of her life until then.

We enjoyed many years of tennis games both in Bridgehampton and East Hampton. This is a very sad day. I will miss our laughter and good times on the courts. I have that memory of seeing you with Carol B. at the book signing! Ken and I send our sincere condolences to Randy. You are in our thoughts.
