Nancy Margaret Leqve

The funeral Mass for Nancy M. Leqve will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Rochester, with the Rev. Kevin Connolly officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 7, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, and also one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Monday. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Nancy Leqve, 80, of Rochester, died at the Stewartville Care Center on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, from stroke complications.

Nancy was born Oct. 8, 1934, in Winnebago, to Lynde and Genevieve (Trembley) Johnson. She grew up in Mankato and graduated as an LPN from St. Marys School of Nursing in 1954. On Aug. 18, 1956, she married Arnold B. Leqve in Mankato. Mr. Leqve passed away in 2004. Nancy retired from nursing after 41 years at Saint Marys Hospital in 1995.

Nancy was a founding member of Resurrection Catholic Church and volunteered there as a CCD teacher. She and her husband, Arnold were foster parents and were honored at one time as "Foster Parents of the Year." Nancy and Arnold wintered in Texas at Casa Del Sol. She enjoyed league bowling at the Tropic Lanes.

She is survived by four children, Mark (Kevin Kramer) Leqve of Fort Lauderdale Fla., Thomas (Julie Smith-Leqve) Leqve of Rochester, Ann (David) Swanson of Eagan and Theresa (Jim) Hurley of Stewartville; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Shepard of Pittsburgh, Pa., Emily Hillis of Provost, Alberta, Canada and Barbara Johnson of Eagan. 

Nancy is preceded in death by husband, Arnold, one sister and one brother.
