Nancy Wilson May, age 65, of Zionville, NC, passed away unexpectedly due to an accident on Thursday afternoon, November 9, 2023 in Watauga County, NC. Nancy was born on May 20, 1958 to the late Joseph Wilson and Ella Martin Wilson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Wilson, nephew, Kevin; and sister-in-law, Monika Wilson.
Nancy was a very loving person who enjoyed helping others. She truly loved everyone and being a caregiver was a great blessing to her. She loved and adored her grandchildren and liked to garden and work in her flowers. Nancy was a member of Zionville Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memories include her sons, Scott May (Dawn), Stacey May (Valerie) and Michael Laird; brother, William Wilson (Sylvia); grandchildren, Jaydelyn, Gwendolyn, Tommy, Kylee, Brittany, Leah and Mikayla; two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Colson; nieces and nephews, Linda, Ronnie, Billy, Patsy, Jim, Keith, and Lynn; and sister-in-law, Doris Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Zionville Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastors Charlie Bradley and Ray Branch officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow the funeral at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Wilson, Billy Wilson, Keith Wilson, Lynn Wilson, Jeremiah Bradley, and Mark Greer.
At other times, friends and family may visit the home of Scott May, 930 Slabtown Road, Zionville, NC 28698. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Zionville Baptist Church, 8174 Old US Hwy 421, Zionville, NC 28698.
