In your lifetime you get a few chances to meet or spend time with someone who makes a true impact on you and the larger world. Nancy O'Connor was such a person.
I had the privilege of working with Nancy at Motor Coach Industries for 10 years during my tenure there as SVP of Human Resources. Nancy was a key team member who possessed the rare combination of someone who was respected and admired for her professionalism, work ethic, and contribution, yet also genuinely loved for her wit, dedication and compassion.
Moreover, Nancy always understood that tomorrow is promised to no one. She made the most of her time giving to others in this world while she had the opportunity. Those of us, who had the good fortune to know her, saw her energy and caring on a regular basis. And while we mourn her passing, we are all probably recognizing now just how lucky we were to have had time with Nancy, and assessing the impact she made in our lives. We are better people for having known her.
Her days with us here may be over, but Nancy will never really leave us as long as we remember everything that made her special. It's now our responsibility never to forget, and to always value her place in our lives. I will miss my friend, and hope we all get the chance to see her later.

Was so sad to hear this news. I knew Nancy in my younger years through my sister and the Thomson family. Always had fun with her, then worked with her at J & S for 3 years. She will be missed. Prayers to her family. RIP

I am so heartbroken that my dear friend has left this world. She affected more people than anyone will know. Her sense of humor and work ethic was admirable. She's was the best friend anyone could ask for. She picked me up in my darkest times and I will miss her immensely. I relish in the fact that she touched my life in so many ways. May she rest in peace and until we meet again my friend.
