Dear Kurt, Chuck, & Eric,

Very sorry to hear about your mother. I still have many good memories from the Crescent Hills days. Your folks were among the nicest people in the neighborhood. In fact, the only time I remember Mrs. S. getting upset with us kids was one time when we were playing softball (in the vacant lot that eventually became McCallisters' house). She was cleaning an upstairs bathroom that overlooked the field, and once the window was opened, she caught an earful of our colorful play-by-play, which was less than wholesome. We were definitely ahead of our time, vocabulary-wise. Even Alfie was probably offended! At least he could be bribed with ice cream... Both your parents put up with our antics pretty well. They will be missed.

I just heard about Nancy this afternoon from an e-mail coming from another classmate of ours,
Gordon Conner. We were at WHS together and graduated in the class of 1949. Nancy was always vivacious and friendly. My condolences to her family.

I had the privilege of commuting to Oakland with "Mrs. Schramm" during my first year at Pitt. She was an absolutely lovely neighbor and a sweetheart in general. My condolences to her three wonderful sons and their families!
