HAMPTON - Nancy Viola Shackleford, 69, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2005, at her home in Hampton. A native of Washington, N.C., Nancy was a longtime Hampton resident. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Linwood E. Shackleford Sr., and daughter, Deborah Lynn Dentler, Nancy is survived by her son, Linwood E. Shackleford Jr. and his wife, Martha; her daughters, Lou E. Miller and her husband, Mark, and Viola C. Tittle and her husband, Keith; brother, William Beacham and his wife, Mary Alice; sisters, Mildred Potter and her husband, Paul, Hazel Midgett and her husband, Olin, and Martha Ellen Boyd; son-in-law, Ron Dentler; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A life celebration service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, by David Highlander, pastor, with the burial to immediately follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care of Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton.

Aunt Nancy will be missed dearly. She was a great woman with a heart of gold. She holds a special place in all of our hearts, and we are thankful for all the fond memories that we have of her.

Mama You are missed so badly, but we thank God that there is no more suffering for you .
