My condolences to Nanette's family. I knew Nanette at Southwestern at Memphis, where she was one year ahead of me. She and I would often work late doing quantitative statistics on the Wang computers at college, sometimes until 2 a.m., and then we went to the Corned Beef House for sandwiches. She taught me how to play tennis. She often sewed, and she introduced me to stretchy material. She lived a few rooms away from me in the dorm one year. I can still see her in her bell-bottom jeans sitting in her rocking chair. When I got married in my junior year, she was my maid of honor, escorted my out-of-town fiance to the government office to get the wedding license, and coordinated a private reception for me at the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority house. She was my best friend at college. I have always regretted that I lost touch with her after she graduated and we both moved out of Memphis. I have missed her friendship terribly over the years.

Nanette´s warm personality made a lasting impression on me when I relocated to California to be closer to my son and his wife. We enjoyed attending the celebrations of our shared grandchildren, particularly birthday parties and grandparent´s day at their school, as well as sitting together at their sporting events. I will truly miss her. Patsy Baumann (Moore)

There is so much to say about Nanette I almost don´t know where to start. She was definitely a force of nature. I can´t begin to list all the things I learned from her, but she was definitely the best quilter I have ever known. She made perfect quarter inch seams and had the best eye for color. I will truly miss her.

I am so sorry to learn of Nanette's passing. I have many fond memories of the times our families spent together when we were children and then, as young adults, during our college years.

Nanette was more than a great quilting teacher to me. She was a great travel buddy and one of those dear friends that I could always count on in times of need. I miss her so much.
