My name is Abasi Naptali thanks to Naomi she helped me change my name, I'm so sad that she passed before I could let her no I received my master's degree, thanks to her. I met Naomi in 1977

Naomi was an Indiana State University Alum and an amazing person. Forever BLUE!! She is part of the great history of ISU. She left a great footprint there.

My heart goes out to the family she was such a wonderful person and so talented we talked just a couple of months ago at the library and she was gracious as usual. She often shared her knowledge with me to help me this was who she was always helping someone who needed it and her support for people and her city was overwhelming. My heart is hurting right now and I am tearing up now just talking about her, missing her forever, see you on the other side Queen.

Naomi was an exceptional woman who excelled at whatever endeavor she chose. She and her talents will be sadly missed by the Gary community. May the family find comfort in knowing that others care. I extend condolences to the entire family.

Naomi leaves a legacy which was preceded and motivated by her mother's DIVINE WORKS on earth. She proudly continued the course of taking charge to continue the programs, civic duties, and scholarship endeavors of her mother, Dolly. Naomi is now a PROUD HEAVENLY ANGEL who stands by her mother's side as two of GOD'S DUTIFUL SERVANTS. Naomi was a talented woman and I'll not forget the last time I saw her. I opened the door, and there she was, and that picture, surreal, has stayed in my head. She was a remarkable woman, for me, awe inspiring.
Naomi was a gift to all of Gary, young and old alike. Her death has left a great big empty space which none can fill. We mourn with her family, for we all have lost a treasure.
