Not sure what to say?

To My dear Friend Linda, Kevin and the Claunch Family, I shockingly just this afternoon found out about Nathan's passing and am very saddened. I'm so very sorry that I had no way of knowing about this prior to today and feel badly about it. I live in Northern MI by myself, not well health wise and just did not know. When I would visit Linda in their home years ago Nathan and I would have conversations together and I remember him so well. I know the last several years have been a very trying time with Nathan's illness for Linda. I am saddened by Nathan's passing and hope that fond memories that all have experienced have helped Linda and the family through this time of great sadness. Sincerely, Linda J Solomon

Nathan and I were good friends in graduate school and for many years beyond. We shared living quarters for a year in Princeton, and I visited him a number of times in Michigan. I was very much saddened to hear of his passing.
I enjoyed his sense of humor and will miss it.
My condolences to all who were close to him.

We were four close friends in graduate school, sharing basement offices, midnight studies and pizza, whiffle ball and other games, beer, and jokes. Nat, Bob Grissom, Michael Apter Smith, and I had a lot of fun together. We lost touch after that, much to my regret; but the memory is still vivid. I'm sad to hear that Nat is gone, but it's good to know that he had a fine family, a satisfying career, and an ever-present sense of humour.
My condolences to Linda and the whole family.
