He was born Nov. 15, 1981 in Brookville to Larry P. and Janet (Hetrick) Gourley. Mr. Gourley worked for G&G Gas of which he was part owner.
He was a graduate of Redbank Valley High School where he was a great athlete in wrestling, football and track. Since his childhood he loved to dig, the sandbox just got bigger. He loved family get togethers and his many good friends. He enjoyed mountain climbing with his brothers, motorcycle riding, skiing, traveling and caving. He also had a love of working with wood and carpentry. He was fun loving and happy and always wore a smile. He took good care of his grandparents and nieces. Survivors include his parents of New Bethlehem; two brothers, Scott P. Gourley and wife Ember of New Bethlehem and Eric N. Gourley and wife Heather of New Bethlehem; one sister, Wendy Gourley and fiance Scott Smith; his grandparents, Jim and Fern Gourley and Gladys Hetrick, all of New Bethlehem; seven nieces, Sarah, Samantha, Suzannah, Emily, Megan, Clara and Mia; aunts, uncles and cousins; and his girlfriend, Chelsea McKinney of St. Petersburg. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Warren Hetrick. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Rupert Funeral Home, New Bethlehem. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Leatherwood Church on Olean Trail and Church Road, Porter Township, Clarion County with the Rev. Rob Folen, interim pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be at the Leatherwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Nathan Gourley Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Northwest Savings Bank, 301 Broad St., New Bethlehem, Pa. 16242.
