Nathan Hill Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 14, 2024.
After a valiant battle with cancer spanning 2.5 years, Nathan Lee Hill peacefully passed away on May 11, 2024, at the age of 52, while being comforted by loved ones in his residence in Spokane, Washington.
Nathan's journey began in La Grande, Oregon, on August 4, 1971. He grew up in Seattle, Washington, under the care of his parents, Ron and Rita Hill, alongside his siblings Lonnie Hill, Rina Glass (Hill), and Jeffrey Hill. Shortly after high school he began a career as a stone mason spanning a period of 25 years and shortly after started a family with the birth of his first son Christopher Lee Hill, followed by his son Alexander Michael Hill and then his daughter Victoria May Hill. On June 15th, 1996 Nathan dedicated his life to serving his heavenly father Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was dedicated to promoting pure worship by sharing the Good News about Gods Kingdom (Matt 6:9,10) and was very active in his congregations being involved in the building of places of worship as well as taking care of his fellow believers and friends. This gave him great joy as it was his honor to serve not just God but also any who might have a need. His heart was big which made him a joyful giver.
In 2013 he met the love of his life Lori Hill (Fletcher) and married her on May 2nd, 2015 creating a bond that could not be severed, not even by death. In that bond he added to his children a daughter Candra Cady and 2 grandchildren Jackson Overland and Hadley Jordan. They worked side by side in their cleaning business and in their ministry for 9 years. Sharing a meal of hospitality with friends and family was Nathans greatest joy. His love of cooking for others was one thing that made him very adored by those who knew him. His smile, his laughter and his care of family and friends make up a short list of Nathans qualities which made him very dear to all.
A son, brother, father, uncle, husband and friend, Nathan wore many hats in life and wore them with honor and dignity. He was a man of deep feeling and was moved to be a giver of joy, laughter, protection and love. He would say, "I want to affect and to be affected" and this he very much accomplished in his short life. Through the music that he loved, food, art, humor and devote spirituality friends and family have stories to tell of just how much they were affected by him.
Nathan is survived by his loving wife Lori Hill, father Ron Hill and mother Rita Hill, oldest brother Lonnie Hill, brother Jeffrey Hill and sister Rina Glass (sp. Nathan Glass), as well as his beloved children Christopher, Alexander and Victoria Hill and Candra Cady along with Jackson and Hadley (grandchildren) and nieces Mackenzie Laxa, Makaylyn Carey and nephews Andre and Anthony Hill.
Nathan left a legacy of having been fiercely loyal to those whom he called his own, desiring to care for them as long as he was able. He was also a man of faith knowing that the needs of his loved ones would be cared for in his absence by his Heavenly Father, Jehovah. It gave him great peace in the end as he knew he was slipping from this world into deaths deep sleep to know that we would all be together once again very soon in the promised Paradise.

"And I have a hope towards God...that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." Acts 24:15

Special thanks to the Mead and Country Homes congregations for their love, prayers and provisions, Dr. Gopaluni and her staff at Cancer Care NW, Rebekah Druitt at Pacific NW Cremation for her excellent and compassionate service, Hospice of Spokane and Bro. Eric Hill for representing your brother Nathan and Jehovah very well.

My Uncle Nathan was always a joy and could light up a room with just his presence. He had such a big heart , he will be forever missed. When I moved to Spokane the only way it was possible was because of him and his wonderful wife, I will be eternally grateful to them. He was always filled with joy, growing up I remember him always laughing and having a good time with family and friends. Some of my best memories as child involve him being a goofball.
