Nathan Mariani Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 31, 2018.
Nathan Stephen Mariani,16, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 31, 2018 in Spofford, NH.

Nathan was born in New Haven, CT, January 7, 2002, and spent his formative years in Wolcott, Harwinton and Burlington, CT and just the past two years enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of New Hampshire.

Nathan was a Junior at Keene High School and was employed at Maplewood Nursing Home in the dietary department. Nathan was a sensitive spirit. He gave amazing and heartfelt hugs. He had a true love for the outdoors. He loved to take hikes, ride his bike and scooter, explore the forest and go camping. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Nathan will be greatly missed.

He was the cherished son of Tina Mariani and her fiancé, Robert Legere and his late father Mark Mariani. Brother to Nicholas and Michael. He was adored by his Grandparents, Catherine "Betsi" Mariani and the late David Mariani of CT, Margaret "Peggy" Dykema of CT and Donald Dykema of WA and Ronald Legere and Marcia Krajewski of CT. Nathan was beloved by his Aunt and Uncle, Scott and Nicole Cawley and their children Wyatt and Logan as well as his Aunt and Uncle Matthew and Amanda Mariani and their children Isabella and Marley, all from CT. Nathan was loved by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends who will deeply miss him.

Though Nathan's family is deeply saddened by his loss, they are comforted by the gift that he was able to give, through the donation of his corneas, so that someone might have the blessing of sight.

A celebration of his life for family and friends will be Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 2 to 4pm at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH. Burial will be private and at the discretion of the family.

Remembrances may be made to The Samaritans, Inc., 103 Roxbury Street, Suite 203, Keene, NH 03431 or donate via their website: http://samaritansnh.org/donate/

Witnessing the suffering and pain that his friends and family are going through reflects to me how much Nathan was loved and cherished. If there are words to express the deep grief I dont know what they are. I am so so sorry and sad. As a mother, and as the mother of a child who loved Nathan very much . We are praying always ❤
