Nathan D. Parsons, Jr.
Silver Springs - Nathan D. Parsons, Jr. 97, passed away peacefully at home, January 22, 2021. He was born July 29, 1923 in Kissimmee, FL to the late Nathan D. Parsons, Sr. and Marie Arnold Parsons. He retired after 24 years with the United States Air Force as Senior Master Sergeant. He loved the military and after that he worked in the Post Office and Agriculture Department for 13 years. He also had a short period of time as an inspector at Libby's in town.
The happiest time of his life was when he was a little scutter, fishing with his Dad; and his momma calling out N.D! - and needing more wood brought into the house.
He is preceded by his beloved wife for 71 years, Enid Parsons, he was the love of her life; and sons, Richard and Timothy James. Nathan is survived by his wife Shirley A. Parsons; daughter, Mary Lamb; step-children, Diane Davis and Timothy Bogan; sister, Francis Henderson; and grandchildren Jennifer and Joy; and four great-grandchildren.
Nathan always had a smile on his face, he loved his family and all people. So many many precious memories, he always woke up and came out of bed singing songs and poems.
He will be laid to rest in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL.

You couldn't miss Uncle ND in a crowd with his wonderful array of hats he wore. When Bill and are out going to yard sales, every once in awhile we would run Uncle ND and Sherliy also. We would talk about all our new treasures. He will truly be missed by family and friends.
Uncle ND thank you for your unconditional love and friendship. Thank you for your service and please say Hi to family in heaven. With all our love Laurie and Bill Henderson

Nathan was the most wonderful father a daughter could ever have. I was the only child in our family so I think the bond that mom, dad and I shared was one few other children are as fortunate to have.
Regretfully, Dad and I were unable to share his last years, so I especially treasure the short unexpected visit we had together one afternoon a while back. And i will forever miss him.
