Nathaniel A. Potter Jr.

ALBANY Nathaniel A. Potter, Jr., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 3, 2004 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born on October 24, 1981 in Albany, N.Y. He was on the wrestling team at Albany High School. He graduated from Albany High School in 1999 where he received a wrestling scholarship to college. He chose instead to enlist in the US Navy, where he served for 4 years until becoming ill. He is the beloved son of Nathaniel Potter of Schenectady and Deborah Flood of Albany; also survived by four brothers, Corey Flood, Christopher Flood, Michael Smith-Hamlin, all of Albany and Shanon Potter of Schenectady; four sisters, Lameika Potter, Falona Flood, Shana Potter and Shenelle Potter, all of Schenectady; also survived by his maternal grandmother, Dorene Hamlin of Albany; his paternal grandfather, Percy Potter of Delaware and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Israel AME Church, 381 Hamilton Street, Albany with the Rev. John C. Justice, Pastor. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church, prior to the funeral. Interment at the Graceland Cemetery, Albany, N.Y.
